Dr Lorraine Day is an internationally acclaimed orthopedic trauma surgeon and best selling author who served for 15 years on the faculty of the University of California, San Francisco, as an Associate Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics, and as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at San Francisco General Hospital.
In 1992, she found a small tumor about half the size of an almond located high upon her chest. A biopsy was performed under local anesthesia because her doctor did not believe that the lump was cancerous. Unfortunately test confirmed that the tumor was indeed a cancer, so a second surgery was scheduled to remove the remnants.
She refused to have a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and the radiation that was being recommended by her doctors because she had witnessed the failures of conventional medicine first-hand and she did not believe that her cancer was caused by a lack of chemotherapy, radiation or from having too many breasts.
She says that she had a long-standing interest in alternative medicine and was aware that the first thing she needed to do was to change her diet by eliminating all animal proteins.
She continued on this diet but says that the tumor continued to grow large and became increasingly painful. She tried a variety of therapies during this time including a rife generator, macrobiotics diet, 714X, and about 40 other alternative treatments, but nothing seemed to work for her. She continued to grow sicker, and became bed-ridden for 6 months time, and at one point she was not expected to last through the night.
She says she prayed to God for guidance and the healing plan she developed came about after she fully accepted the fact that she gave herself cancer, and she could then explore every aspect of her life to come up with a comprehensive plan which allowed her to heal.

- Continued on with the raw, vegan diet
- Ate 3 meals of all natural, organic, living foods
- Drank 13 fresh juices everyday- 1 was a fruit juice, and 12 vegetable juices
- She added Organic Barley Grass Powder
- Sprouted beans, seeds and grains
- Eliminated all sugar
- Eliminated all additives, preservatives and caffeine
- drank 10 glasses of water
- A good night’s rest
- breathing fresh air
- exposure to sunlight without sunscreen
